Setting Up Samsung JS8500 4K 3D TV & Samsung HW J650 Soundbar

**Correction for pairing the remote...press and hold 2 keys...the RETURN/EXIT key along with the EXTRA key for about 10 seconds...a grey box displays on the bottom left showing the pairing process is working. In the video we used a different key combination that worked the first time, but not for the 2nd remote we added later. General Information How to setup a new Samsung TV & soundbar. We got a Samsung JS8500 TV & HW J650 Soundbar. We couldn't find any decent videos about setting them up. We had a lot of problems so during our third setup we decided to record the process to hopefully prevent others from wasting all the time we did trying to figure things out! We never made it to the entering your Zipcode step on the first one. When we did while we were recording this we probably spent 1/2 an hour trying to get the Location field to accept our numeric entry. We were using the wrong 'number' menu which is why there's that brief part trying to show that. But here's a better explanation (hopefully). If you press Menu 123 button on the remote it pulls up the wrong numeric display. The right one you get to display by putting the curser into the Location field and hitting ENTER. We did this using that round pointer button right above the 'joystick' buttons on the remote. Then press the round pointer button for ENTER. Then the grey number menu is displayed at the bottom of the screen. You just put the round pointer on each number and press it. So far we really like the display and it does have much less glare than the first TV from Costco. We couldn't make out much detail on dark scenes...this was made worse by the fact that all our our lamps caused glaring on the shiny display...so we had to turn off all the lights when there were dark scenes and even then detail was hard to see. I spent a long time calibrating the display and changing settings. Other's had posted extensive recommendations for tweaking about 40 different aspects. What I did improved the overall display a lot...it was great after that. But the 'dark scene with no detail and lamp glare' problem remained...so we returned it. Costco has 90 days to return...Best Buy has 15 unless your a Premium rewards member then it's 30 days...a $1000 purchase puts you in that category...but we only had 15 days to decide since this purchase doesn't count. The Bose Cinemate 10 Soundbar wasn't great either. We never could get it to sync with the Samsung remote...we did get it to sync with our cable remote but it was a cumbersome way to use it 'cause you had to switch every time from cable to auxiliary to adjust volume during loud commercials. It also randomly made really loud electronic popping noises or did other random weird loud noises that bugged us. So far the Samsung Soundbar is much, much better. It just synced automatically with the TV remote and it sounds great. Below a link to the Best Buy JS8500 we got...it's was $1799 the 1st time then when we exchanged they took $100 off 'cause of a sale...so it was $1699...right now I s $1500.
